Volunteering is basically the heart of our work, activities and efforts. It not only builds character and self-esteem but is a tremendous and real learning experience. Travel experiences and spending an extended period of time at a new place gives us the chance to get to know the people, traditions and their lifestyle. Interacting with new cultures, trying new food, speaking new languages and meeting new people is truly a splendid experience.

CESD (Centre for education and social development) is an organization which undertakes social action and proactively promotes volunteerism, provide community service and improve cultural awareness in locations throughout India. It works towards creating awareness among individuals about reflection on one’s own culture. One of the CESD’s core verticals is aiming to offer Indian people to interact with the international volunteers and vice versa which can surely make a positive impact towards both the communities.

CESD is mainly involved in nine projects covering various fields such as environment, education, health and sanitation, women empowerment, community service, etc. running in different rural and urban locations in and around Pune. The project location has an international connectivity by air and is just 100 miles from Mumbai, better known as the finance capital of India.

We have collaboration with local orphanages, schools and institutions, medical centers, NGOs and grassroots organisations. Our volunteer programs/projects provides an opportunity to support our social initiative in several different ways by providing education to the children, empowerment of girls and women along with the upliftment of street children, basic teaching and inculcating knowledge and awareness about health programs. The volunteers can participate in all areas and can assist with special projects throughout the year.

All our programs aims at motivating the youth, couples, groups, families and community people to make a great contribution and participate in National Development by getting involved in ‘Shake Hands India Volunteer Program’.
